Collector – Merit Badges Made Easy In Fallout 76

Welcome to the Collector merit badge guide for Fallout 76! As with all of the Possum badges, make sure you earn the Possum rank before beginning work on the Collector merit badge. If you’re already a hoarder (or you know one), then this merit badge should be a breeze. Otherwise, it might take a bit of time, and a little bit of map hopping, but you’ll get there. Note on obtaining items: some items can be obtained from other players (including the following suggestions), some must be obtained naturally by the player.1) Receiving the item directly from a friend. 2) Picking up from a container, placed by another player. 3) Purchasing from a vendor, sold by another player. 4) Finding the item naturally in the world.  Before we jump into our guide, here are the rather lengthy list of requirements for the Collector badge.

If you’re looking for the answers for the Collector knowledge exam, you’ll find those at the bottom of the article in an expandable tab. If you haven’t already grabbed them, there are several rare flavors of Nuka-Cola to procure. While you can find these in player vendors, if you’ve done the Nukashine quest line (if you haven’t, get on that post-haste!), you can find rare flavors in Louis’ Nuka-shrine. While not all of them will spawn every time you go, word on the street is that with a few visits what spawns there rotates through various beverages. If you have the key to the TNT dome where you obtain the Nuka Quantum paint for the X-01 power armor, there’s also a Nuka-Grape that spawns there, if someone hasn’t ganked it already. Nuka-Cola Dark can be crafted if you’ve learned the recipe from Biv.

The Tales from the West Virginia Hills (TftWVH) holotapes can be found around the map, and you likely picked up both of the “Who Goes There” tapes in Flatwoods when you started the game. We’ll flesh out where the rest of them are located, but suffice it to say, if you don’t already have them, it’ll take a bit.

The various teddy bears are also spread around the map, and we hope to be adding in their locations soonishly.

If you haven’t been collecting magazines yet, it’s definitely a good time to start, as many magazines give great benefits, and even if they’re not of value to you, they’re almost always someone interested in trading or buying them. While magazine spawns are generally static, they don’t always spawn in, and it usually could be just about any of the magazines appearing in a given spot.

If you have friends who play the game, or are part of a group, hopefully there’s someone (like in Agents of Game) who already has most if not all of these items. If not, then it might be wise to start saving them on one of your characters so you can share them with friends, and pass them around to everyone who is working on the badge. Fingers crossed you don’t have a klepto in your group, otherwise you might need to hunt someone down and TP their house.
