Welcome to the Electrician merit badge guide for Fallout 76! As with all of the other Possum merit badges, make sure you’ve reached the Possum rank before you begin working on this badge. While this is by far one of the simplest of the merit badges, requirement #6 is also currently bugged (Thanks satnab from Reddit!), so you may or may not be able to complete this one. Before we get into our full guide, here are the requirements for the Electrician merit badge.
- Pass “Electrician” knowledge exam at an exam terminal
- Build a generator in a Workshop or C.A.M.P.
- Build a light fixture in a Workshop or C.A.M.P.
- Build a power connector in a Workshop or C.A.M.P.
- Mod a weapon to do shock damage
- Restore power to a Power Plant (BUGGED)
- Be a conduit in the Encrypted Event (x/60)
- Take a camera picture of a generator
If you’re looking for the answers to the Electrician knowledge exam, you’ll find those at the bottom of the article in an expandable tab. Building generators, light fixtures, and power connectors in a workshop or camp is easy enough, and you’ll unlock plans for more types of generators as you complete the event to restore power to a power plant. You can also buy plans for these at various vendors, but might as well kill all the birds with minimal stone throwing. Gotta keep that throwing shoulder healthy, after all.
Depending on which weapon you choose, modding shock damage onto it may require learning that mod, and a few points of the Makeshift Warrior perk (Intelligence), and your options include the Baton, Chinese Officer Sword, Revolutionary Sword, Mr Handy Buzzblade, and Assaultron Blade, among others. After you’ve taken a camera picture of a generator, then you need to do the Encrypted event and be a conduit for least 60 seconds. If your character has high health and energy/damage resistance, then you can potentially be a conduit for two or three of the machines at once, but be prepared to blow up to 50 diluted stimpaks per fight, depending on how tanky you are.
So that’s that! Again, it’s incredibly simple, but currently bugged.
