Thirty five years ago today, The Empire Strikes Back opened in theaters, and fans were treated something very special: a Star Wars movie that wasn’t directed by George Lucas. So, in memory of that, we’ll share a few of the original trailers (the first one was made almost entirely from concept art), as well as a modern trailer for the remastered versions. As a side note, I think the movies have held up better than the trailers…
And yes, we know that there were multiple release dates in multiple countries, and not all of you will be reading this on the same day either. Don’t kill the vibe, yo.

Thanks for this trip down memory lane! Movies today, and my personal world view, would be much different without the magic and wonder that Star Wars brought to us. Even though recent offerings from the franchise have been depressing and alarmingly commercial, I still find myself hopeful for the new movie coming out. If they can tap into a fragment of the original trilogy’s spirit, it will be worth watching.
