TiddlerCelestial, a Hearthstone player from China, has won the Dreamhack Hearthstone Grand Prix! He beat Dog in a 3-2 series to claim the championship.
TiddlerCelestial was almost famous in 2014, coming in second place at the Hearthstone World Championship. He lost to Firebat’s druid 0-3.
Now he’s back, and this time he’s the champion. He played against Dog and took the series to the final match. In the end, his Demon Zoo Warlock was simply too fast for Dog’s Patron Warrior, securing him the championship.
Even though the series went to 5 matches, it really came down to each player’s warlock and warrior deck. Both players brought Patron Warrior, again demonstrating the strength of this deck in the meta right now. Both players also brought warlock decks, but the lists were very different.
Dog brought Malygos Warlock, a newish deck on the scene that focuses on wearing your opponent down, then finishing them off with the +5 spell damage from Malygos. TiddlerCelestial brought the more common Demon Zoo Warlock.
It was back and forth with TiddlerCelestial’s Patron Warrior winning against Dog’s Malygos Warlock. Then Dog beat TiddlerCelestial’s zoo warlock with Malygos. Unfortunately for Dog, TiddlerCelestial got all the demons he needed, including an early Mal’ganis, causing Dog to simply concede the final match.
Congratulations Tiddler Celestial!
