Heroes of the Storm’s newest melee assassin, The Butcher, is set to release tomorrow, 6/30/15, presumably after maintenance. Blizzard released a video as well, previewing his powers and giving some pointers for playing him.

As a melee assassin, The Butcher will focus on taking down enemy heroes, and his kit seems tuned to be very strong in 1v1 duels. While his Furnace Blast does offer some great damage in close quarters, his second heroic ability, Lamb to the Slaughter, seems to be his most interesting ability. The nature of its root effect will force the enemy team to either abandon the trapped ally, setting your team up for a 4v5 teamfight, or stay and protect their ally, hopefully making them fight from a weaker position.

If previous hero releases are an indication, The Butcher will be available for 15,000 GP of in game currency, or $9.99 USD. His in game GP cost should then drop to 10,000 GP after a week or so.
