Gfinity’s Summer Masters Tournament 1 has concluded with Legendaren taking home the trophy and $5,000! He won in a best of 7 match against Unskiller, a relative newcomer to the tournament scene.
While Legendaren hasn’t been seen in many tournaments lately, he was always cool and composed throughout the tournament. This is a stark contrast from the runner-up, Unskiller, who appeared to be a bundle of nerves, with the casters continually remarking on rushed or missed plays. Still, Unskiller did pick his decks very well, choosing to bring a rogue deck instead of the standard warlock class, which actually had a rather weak showing this tournament.
In fact, Legendaren’s warlock deck was the only deck Unskiller could conquer in the finals match, leaving the score 4-1 for Legendaren. It’s interesting to note that Legendaren brought a rogue deck as well to the tournament and used that deck for two of his four wins in the finals match. Of course, Patron Warrior was played as well by both players.
Congratulations to Legendaren on his first tournament win! Hopefully we’ll see more of his unflinching play style again soon.
