Hearthstone has had a dearth of tournaments lately, possibly owing to The Grand Tournament expansion having just been released. Thankfully, Gfinity held their Summer Masters II tournament this weekend, with some great Hearthstone action.
Hoej was crowned champion after winning a full 7 game series against Faeli. Hoej has been in several tournaments before, but Faeli is a relative newcomer to the tournament scene. This extra experience was crucial in Hoej securing his victory.
Faeli started off strong, going up 3-1 in the series. Unfortunately, his fourth and final victory eluded him as Hoej was able to mount a comeback, winning 3 games in a row. Hoej and Faeli had also squared off in the round of 8 matches, with Hoej defeating Faeli and sending him to the losers bracket. Faeli rallied and came back all way to the finals, but again, Hoej seemed to be his kryptonite.
As the victor, Hoej took home a $5,000 prize. Congratulations!
