If you’re anything like me, your go-to game consists of first-person shooters and ever improving graphics. The release date for Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare, is November 4th, 2016. Infinite Warfare comes with a remastered high def Modern Warfare, which is a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4. Of course with expanded multiplayer options. (Multiplayer info inside link) if you’re looking to preorder you can do so from Amazon, here.
In way of criticism and thoughts from the public, COD I.F. was introduced via YouTube. With an overwhelming dislike number, 370,000; the negative thumbs are still rising, and so quickly that it has made Infinite Warfare’s trailer the most disliked on YouTube. From the looks of it, viewers are disappointed by the lack of normality. (I.F. Lets you battle on different planets) but I’ve always thought that COD and it’s sequels were slowly merging into some kind of Halo universe. Clearly, many people feel the futuristic tone and space combat stray too far from the realistic and historical war roots of the franchise.
Critical comments obviously won’t go unnoticed, especially by the creators whose success is determined by who will purchase their game next. Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg adds, “We’ve seen this in the franchise before. The reveal trailer for Black Ops 2, which took the franchise into the future for the first time, had the most dislikes of any reveal trailer we had ever made at that time. And that went on to become our most successful game ever.” Yes, this game does feel very different, but maybe it’s a good thing that Call of Duty is trying to avoid becoming stale. Especially with all the attention going to games like No Man’s Sky, Halo, Star Citizen, and others, a lot of people might have been raving about the trailer for the game, if it didn’t have the Call of Duty name attached. For instance, people were critical about mapping on Black Op’s 2, and the coolest add was the futuristic Nuke Town. Emphasis on futuristic. (Guess we like a little, but not too much.) If anything, on the physical and actual fighting side of Call of Duty in general, I would say that it has been improving with every update. You can never please the public though, a lot of people don’t want to get too close to stab an enemy.
I think it’s gathered that a lot of the criticism on the COD Infinite Warfare trailer is made by people who expect more from the creators, or in this case maybe less? I guess it depends on which takes more time to format. And I’ll have to admit that it has become more futuristic with many abnormalities. There is a very broad change when rewinding and playing original COD vs. New editions. Where media and quality of life on earth shifts, obviously gaming will too. If you want the realistic warfare, then I suggest sticking it out with the original titles.
I’m sure that upon delivering Infinite Warfare, disregarding the criticism, there will be lines and tents up for the midnight release. With high def and intense multiplayer options, I don’t know why you wouldn’t be willing to give it a shot, due to its non-realism and Halo-shifting substance. The future is upon us, and video games will be the first to show this. On the link below and upon revealing the page you’ll see that the first small article head reads, “A Classic Remastered” followed by sections on game modes and a gallery. I recommend at least giving it a try or a look-see. If it’s not what you are aching for then I suggest resorting to the classic Modern Warfare.
At launch Infinite Warfare will only have 10 MP maps from the original Modern Warfare. Additional maps are scheduled for availability on December 31, 2016.
In personal opinion, I enjoy the futuristic additives to the game. The COD series has given us an ample supply of authentic experiences and now, the devs are looking to let us glimpse into future warfare. With such success from prior editions, change is acceptable. The true test of criticism will be based on how many copies are purchased on the release date and beyond. So I guess we’ll just have to hang in there. Or jump into the new world of Infinity! It’s not Modern anymore, people! Welcome to 2016!
