The latest Fallout 76 roadmap just dropped, and it’s confirmed that Season 8 of the Scoreboard starts next week, March 1st, so if you’ve still got some ranks to unlock, you’d better get to grinding. Or not, you’ll probably live either way.
If you’re all about that vault dweller life, Season 8: A Better Life Underground may have some unlockables that are up your alley. Aside from the new scoreboard there’s a new seasonal event, Invaders from Beyond featuring the Zetans (Fallout 3’s DLC Mothership Zeta noted that at least one of their abductees was from Vault 76), and we’ll have to band together to try to stop their nefarious deeds. Also be on the lookout for random encounters throughout Appalachia during the event. If you’ve been less than thrilled about custom worlds, there’s also an update that allows us to unlock SCORE even outside of official servers.
Summer will bring us the Test Your Metal public event that players have been testing out on the PTS, as well as Season 9, and some other tweaks to the Scoreboard. Fall brings Season 10, and will (hopefully) give us our first Expedition outside of Appalachia to The Pitt, with new missions, and at least some story elements. Details are scant, but most of us are cautiously optimistic we’ll have a heaping helping of the meaty content the game desperately needs.
Winter introduces Nuka World on Tour, “The Fizziest Show on Earth.” Again, there will be a new season of the Scoreboard, as well as more events, and a new regional boss (yay!). Again, there’s not much to glean from this, but fingers crossed it’ll be a little bit of a change of pace.
While everything on here looks great to us, it looks a lot leaner than we were hoping for. Expeditions are further down the road than many of us expected, and most of the other updates sound fairly minor. Also, there’s no mention of the anticipated Four-Star Legendary update. Bethesda have surprised us with bonus content and a unexpected surprises in the past, hopefully they do so again this year, otherwise the wasteland may not have enough to keep us consistently coming back.
