Welcome to the Agency Brief for January 21, 2020.
Game Delays
Cyberpunk 2077 – Instead of April, it’ll be September 17, 2020.
Dying Light 2 – Instead of Spring, it’s delayed indefinitely.
Fallout 76 – Wastelanders updates & 94 closure When the Wastelanders update and living human NPCs return to the wasteland, there will be plenty of improvements made to the questing system. These include not only new icons which help differentiate types of quests, but also the ability to auto-hide certain types so they don’t automatically pop up!
Also, by now, the private test servers for the Wastelanders update are live for those lucky PC players who were selected, and things are tentatively looking good for a full release in the next couple of months. With that in mind, if you’re interested in doing the Vault 94 raids, you might want to hurry up.. Yes, once Wastelanders comes out, Bethesda will be re-locking Vault 94, and at least temporarily suspending the raid. “Through community feedback we’ve received and our own monitoring since that time, we’ve decided that Vault 94 and its Missions are not delivering the quality of experience that we had hoped to provide. As a result, we are currently planning to shut down Vault 94 alongside the release of the Wastelanders update.” While we’ve been enjoying them (especially on private servers), many people felt they were too difficult, and sometimes if you were raiding on a server where people were nuking or fighting the scorchbeast queen there occasionally was problematic lag.
Red Dead Online Weekly Bonuses – This week features a relatively big update for Xbox users that focuses on story mode additions, and Rockstar are adding in an updated photo mode, a handful of new missions, horses, and items, which you can find more about in the linked article. As far as the regular weekly bonuses go, there’s a 30% discount on most gun modifications, as well as pamphlets from your friendly neighborhood fence. If you’re looking to level up faster, there’s a 50% XP boost for free roam missions. And, if you linked your Twitch Prime account, you can enjoy an extra 10% discount on everything mentioned above. If you don’t have Amazon Prime (which also comes with Twitch Prime), you can click on the handy referrer link on the side if you’re on PC, or down below if you’re on a mobile device, which will get you a free trial.
GTA Online Weekly Bonuses (Jan 16-Jan 22) – Double rewards on Rockstar created King of the Hill and Land Races, as well as a 25% increase to the already lucrative Diamond Casino Heist, a 50% decrease to the cut the support members you hire take (the NPCs, not your friends), and 50% off of the heist setup price. If you don’t have an arcade yet, or yours isn’t well furbished, there’s a 25% discount on all arcade properties, game cabinets, and upgrades. As usual, they have a bunch of vehicles for sale. If you have Twitch Prime, you get an extra 10% off any of their posted discounts, so if you haven’t linked your accounts, might as well get some free or discounted items.
Last week saw the theatrical release of The Wave, Dolittle, and Bad Boys for Life
Star Trek – Picard launches Thursday, Jan 23rd. You’ll need CBS All-Access to watch it, but if you click on one of our referrer links to subscribe, we certainly wouldn’t mind.
Friday the 24th we’ll see the release of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen, and H.P. Lovecraft adaptation Color out of Space, and Gretel and Hansel.
In video games, today we’ll see the Sims 4 add in the Tiny Living Stuff Pack, perfect for those of you who love tiny houses but don’t want to actually live in one. On January 23, Kingdom Hearts III receives its Re:mind update, which expands other stories that took place during the game’s climactic events. We’re also getting the re-release of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath.
That’s it for today’s Agency Brief, we’ll catch you soon with more news and updates.
